Standard Division
Introduction
Apply the full long division algorithm to any-size dividend, including multi-step word problems.
Long Division — The Complete Method
Long division applies the DMSB method repeatedly until all digits of the dividend have been processed:
D — Divide: How many times does the divisor fit into the current partial dividend? M — Multiply: Multiply the quotient digit by the divisor. S — Subtract: Subtract the product from the partial dividend. B — Bring Down: Bring down the next digit of the dividend. Repeat until no digits remain. The final subtraction result is the remainder.
Always verify: Divisor × Quotient + Remainder = Dividend.
Remember: Divide → Multiply → Subtract → Bring Down (DMSB)
